Wisteria - Harangue

******* Coffee Napkin Designs

My last job held a chain-wide contest for team members to design the next batch of napkins (which closely resemble surveys, not something you'd want to wipe your face on). Enjoy these 2.0 mega pixel photos. I spared you the fine print.

Unfortunately, the store manager never sent them. I put in my two weeks the next day (for unrelated reasons, but talk about a deal breaker).

Unicorn Mountain presents: The Black Forest

Those who are acquainted with me IRL can recall the editing job that occupied my time between my freshman and sophomore years. Unicorn Mountain is a Pittsburgh-based collective of illustrators, musicians and authors centered around an ongoing comic anthology. Having first published in 2005, the third volume is supposed to be released this October. It's been a real privilege to be involved so early into my career. I was given a lot of freedom with the book apart from the necessary tasks, including communicating with the artists, doctoring and formatting artwork, organizing the layout and providing insert illustrations throughout like the cuckoo clock pictured above.

A Look Back

I dug up a few pieces from high school...back then I had few inspirations. My favorite Pokemon tend to resemble mythological deities and creatures. These were the first photoshop pieces I felt proud of.

Light Animation

Fuse Feeder is an experimental animation using a technique called light painting, or light graffiti, where long exposures are made in a dark space by moving a light source to "paint" a picture in the air. There are a variety of equipment and techniques to making a light painting; I was influenced by Poi, also called fire dancing, and photos of Poi taken with friends back at home. The track is "Church of Pentagram" from the darkcore group Armageddon Project.

Hello! Instead of having things scattered all over the internet, I'm creating this frankenstein of an art blog as a first step to building my archival monster. Here I will post pictures and updates every so often. Between classes and my own personal work I tend to have a lot going on, so by starting this art blog I hope to get some followers here to lend critique and support.
